Senior Accountant

Our client, a leading Long Island company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. • Preparation of financial statements.
• Preparation of and analysis of income statement account analyses
• Prepare monthly and quarterly balance sheet analyses.
• Produce monthly analysis of P&L and B/S accounts.
• Monthly financial forecasts and income statement
• Perform corporate consolidations and inter-company reconciliations.
• Prepare consolidation elimination entries.
• Maintain consolidated reporting spreadsheets.
• Assistance with daily cash reporting
• Balance sheet and cash flow
• Analyze G&A expense accounts and prepare or review accrual journal entries as appropriate.
• Participate in the month end close process, close the books for the month, analyze results, and ensure accuracy.
• Participate in Monthly, Quarterly and Annual closes.
• Month end close for all entities.
• Handling allocations and approvals in Accounts Payable and General Ledger systems
• Compile purchase and sales statistics.
• Providing interpretation, application, and evaluation of financial policies
• Work on a variety of projects, ad-hoc special projects and reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; or a bachelor’s degree in business, with an emphasis in accounting required.
• 4+ years’ experience in accounting or related field
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills a must
• Self-starter with ability to work under limited supervision.
